Trapped by ‘Lime Bike forests’: Disabled Londoners speak out

How dumped e-bikes are blocking pavements across the capital, turning them into dangerous obstacle courses for disabled people.

Countless complaints have been made to local councils about dumped e-bikes blocking pavements, raising safety concerns for Londoners with disabilities. Numerous campaigns and petitions have been formed to ban e-bikes among London Boroughs.

After new TfL policies surrounding e-bike use were created, we spoke to Erik Matthies, of the Royal National Institute of Blind People, and Ben Millwall, a Londoner and wheelchair user, to understand the dangers of undocked e-bikes.

We explore a constructive guide on the importance of proper e-bike use in the capital, ensuring the service does not disrupt those with disability in future.
