Council workers have rejected the national local government pay offer.

The rubbish is piling up in Tower Hamlets as refuse workers extend their strike.

More than 200 Tower Hamlets council workers downed tools after rejecting the national local government pay offer of £1,925.

The action has been extended by a further two weeks after management failed to make an improved offer.
