The last weekend of February marked the opening of London Fashion Weekend 2016 at the Saatchi Gallery on London’s King’s Road.
It was a four-day showcase open to the public, presenting the latest in fashion with catwalks, pop-up shops featuring the best designer collections and panels with industry experts.
This annual event aimed to provide “an insider’s view of the latest fashion trends,” according to its organisers, as well as highlight and provide an overview of London Fashion Week.
Fashion enthusiasts were seen queueing outside the gallery, eagerly waiting for the opening of this year’s event.
Inside, an expert panel discussion offered advice on the latest fashion trends, the art of vintage, what it takes to be a top fashion editor to how to make it in the modelling industry.
London-based stylist Martha Ward presented the schedule of ticketed and open talks. The list of attendees included personalities including William Vintage, Tracy Sedino, Carole White, William Baker as well as Hello! Fashion’s Monthly deputy editor Jill Wanless, stylist Rachel Story and many others.
British television presenter Laura Jackson hosted the “trends” catwalk shows while radio and television presenter George Lamb hosted the designer catwalk shows.
Models strutted in looks belonging to well-known designers such as Vivienne Westwood.
The designers who showcased their SS16 collections at this year’s edition were Emilia Wickstead, Holly Fulton, Mary Katrantzou and Temperley London.
